Hi Guys! Wow, it’s been a while since I have written a blog. I almost can't remember how to do it. Ok, I'm lying. Well, I thought now would be a good time as ever to give you guys a quick update on my life, on and off track. I'm not gonna lie, 2009 was by far the most difficult season I have had in racing. It was full of ups and downs, physically and financially. I had more crashes than I care to comment on, and the season has left everyone involved bankrupt! Supersport is not for the faint hearted, but we weren’t out to win the main championship, just the cup - and we were on target too after the first half of the year! We pushed and pushed all year and I honestly cannot give the team the credit they deserve. When the chips were down they put in the time and effort to help keep me on track. Unfortunately though, all good things come to an end, and the season just went downhill after the midway point. We were struggling with setup and my results were inconsistent. I found it increasingly difficult to catch the front guys, the bike was getting more and more tired, yet the bills getting more and more expensive. Ultimately, it was a year to forget in many ways. I was on the wrong bike and although the attitude and the professionalism were there in terms of the team, you can’t ever compete with money. So, what have I been doing in the off season? Well, looking for sponsors and/or a team to ride for in 2010 - in short(ish). I have been emailing, phoning and even meeting with people to secure something and I am disappointed to announce I am no further forward than in October. Racing just isn’t what it used to be; too many people are making too much money and turning it into a sport where the person with the most money wins. None the less, I am still trying to secure something. I am pushing in every avenue possible and speaking to as many people as possible. Let’s just hope this time and effort pulls off. In terms of the off track activities, I am training like never before - that’s a familiar sentence I hear you say! Yes, it seems that in every blog or news thread, every rider is upping their training. Well, it’s got to be done. I have a busy few weeks training, with Biddulph Running Club and doing a 4 mile circuit every dinner time! March will be a busy month for me. I have 3 half marathons and one 9 mile uphill race. That should be fun! I have to keep training because it makes me feel like I have something at the end of it all, and if I race, I will without doubt be one of the fittest on track. Just a pitty I can’t spend 8 hours a day training instead of this work lark! So, there it is; Short and sweet. Like I said, I will keep everyone posted on my news in the coming months. If you want to help, get in touch! Every little helps! (I did actually ask Tesco for sponsorship, you can guess what they said!) Thanks for reading guys. I appreciate your support in these difficult times. All the best Robbie
