Speaking to Bikesport News’ Tammy Milsom, Robbie expresses his frustration in the rising costs of racing and the lack of funding available to smaller teams. Against his will, Robbie will not be competing in the 2010 season, as he plans to save up as much money as possible to hit 2011 running on competitive machinery.“Its frustrating to tell everyone the news. I have been sending emails and calling everyone to try and secure the funds. I have been holding onto hope that something will come off last minute, but it hasn’t. It seems everyone is in the same boat and funding for smaller teams is almost none existent. I will continue to train and work damn hard to get something sorted before season end, but I aren’t holding my breath, it’s a tough sport at the best of times and the current climate along with the rising cost to compete just adds to the anger” Explained Robbie To read the full report on www.bikesportnews.com please click here.
