A weekend of mixed emotions for Robbie after first DNF of the season.
The team from Robbie Brown Racing will be looking to forget the local round at Oulton Park come Monday morning, after Robbie tumbled out spectacularly from the lead today.
The weekend has really been of mixed emotions for everyone involved, after qualifying 2nd on the grid, Robbie was fasted in a damp QP2 this morning and things were really looking good for the race. Robbie took the lead on lap two and things were looking good, however, after leading for 6 laps, Robbie lost the front end under braking going into Britten's corner on lap 9.
"It really has been an up and down weekend, and before the race I was so confident I could make it an Oulton double, but it wasn’t meant to be! The bike felt really unstable from the beginning, I just couldn’t get into a fast rhythm. I tried and tried but then eventually, something had to give.
Obviously it’s a real gutter to come away from my home round with no points, but I am 3rd in the standings now and I feel confident for the second half of the season. For now, though, it’s onto fixing the bike overnight and making sure everything is spot on for Knockhill" commented a very frustrated Robbie
So it’s off to Knockhill for the 7th round of the Bennett’s British Superbike championship, where Robbie hopes to make amends for a disappointing home round.
