Bike issues halts Robbies chances of front row start |
|
Robbie missed out on a front row start by fractions after bike issues during qualifying 2.
Robbie was pole position for most of the QP2 session, and things were looking good before he pulled into the pits complaining of a slipping clutch. The spare bike had wets on, and there was hardly enough time to change tyres so Robbie carried on hoping it would hld the session and he would keep at least a front row start.
After making a few slight changes to the bike, Robbie went faster, but then traffic prevented any further improvement in times, Robbie went lap after lap watching him drop positions, only to find that in the final seconds, he lost 4th position and now heads a front row start.
"I am obviously disapointed with this, i was pole for most of the session and the bike was feeling very good, a part from a slipping clutch! I tried and tried to go quicker but there was just too much traffic, obviously everyone was in the same boat but i never got a clear corner let alone a clear lap. Still, i feel very good on the bike and once the clutch is right i am sure i can fight for a win in tomorrows race. Only time will tell" commented Robbie
So now its onto getting a new clutch in the bike ahead of tomorrows 21lap race around Knockhill - Keep an eye on the site for updates of Robbie's progress.
