Disappointing start to the weekend for Robbie |
|
Robbie head into Brands Hatch, hoping to take the outside chance and win the 2008 Junior Superstock series, however, day 1 at the Kent circuit has proved difficult for Robbie.
In session 1, Robbie was trying many different settings, however only managed to get as high as 6th in the session.
After making a few major changes for QP1, one of which was the gearing, Robbie soon realised that it was a bad decision as he found it increasingly difficult to match his morning time, he came into the pits and managed to change a few suspension settings to help the way forward, but unfortunately Robbie was only able to match his morning time of 49.6secs.
“A very disappointing day for me today - to say the least, I really wanted to start where I left off at Croft, and completely forget about the Silverstone episode. Things just didn’t come together, in free practice I tried a few things and they seemed to work, but the changes didn’t help enough, so we decided to make some major changes for Qualifying, which unfortunately were for the worst. Looking at the positives, we have tried some settings, and although they didn’t work, we learned how they affected the bike as a whole, which is a great bonus!”|
“We have a few tricks up our sleeves for tomorrow which we hope should work, so hopefully things will go to plan and I can get back on the case in terms of the championship” Explained an confident Robbie
