Slow start for Robbie on day 1 at Brands Hatch PDF Print E-mail

Having only taken collection of his 2009 Race machine on Tuesday 7th April, it was inevitable that there would be some teething issues during the first few outings on the machine.

Robbie headed out for FP1, and he was looking rather uncomfortable on the bike, none the less, Robbie managed to keep it upright and come in with some positive and negative criticism, which helped with the improvements.
For FP2, the heavens opened and not many riders decided go out on track, unlike Robbie who managed to complete quite a few laps to help his transition to the Supersport machine. Robbie ended the session in 10th position with 26 riders out on track.

“Overall, looking at the timesheets only, the day has been every racers nightmare, however, I had never even rode a Supersport machine before today, so aside from the issues we had, I wasn’t expecting the transition to be easy from a Stock machine of 2008. Both of the sessions went ok for me, the second being the best simply because I was feeling more at home on the bike. I managed to asses the bike and make some positive changes, I was never expecting to have as much electronic-adjustment as a Supersport bike can give, still, we are forever learning new things and I feel very positive for the weekend ahead.
I’m treating this weekend as a test basically. I don’t want to ruin everything we are learning, it would have been nice to have a few tests on the bike but this was not possible, I'm sure we can pull together a good result this weekend but for now, I need to absorb as much information as I can so that we at least have some positive settings on the bike”
