Top 10 grid position for Robbie PDF Print E-mail

Team AGB Transport/Packet Media Limited are all smiles this evening, after a last gasp performance in today’s qualifying, which resulted in Robbie starting 10th on the grid for tomorrow’s race.

In first qualifying, the team head out and decided to do as many fast laps as possible. After a few minutes, Robbie pulled in ready for a new rear tyre. He head out for what would be his fastest lap, but unfortunately only managed 1 lap after the gear shift lever snapped on what would have been his fastest lap.

All fixed for QP2, Robbie knew he was capable of better, and to prove this, he set a time 0.1 faster than in previous qualifying, within the first few minutes. Unfortunately his improvements were short lived after the quick shifter then split and broke away from his gear lever.

“There are so many positives today, so I am trying to keep away from the negatives. I was really looking forward to QP2 because I knew I had the pace to better my times, and my grid position, but then it all went downhill when the quick shifter packet in, forcing me to leave the bike in the same gear.  What made it even more of a bummer is that when we pulled the data from the bike, I was on target for a 1m16.7 lap, which would have placed me on the front row easily. Still, I am not going to complain, it’s my first top 10 grid position and I have everything to fight for in the race. We are all set to go now and I hope to give my team and sponsors the results we all deserve!” explained Robbie

With the team all setup for tomorrows 18 lap race – everyone is hopeful of a good solid finish. Keep an eye on the website for the very latest news, or follow Robbie on Twitter at www.twitter.com/robbiebrown
